木登り上手の猿でも不覚をとって滑り落ちることがあるというのが名前の由来です。　スベスベした美しい幹肌を見ていると確かにそんな思いがしますね。
The name Sarusuberi(Saru means monkey and suberi means slipping)is said to come from the story that even a monkey as an excellent tree climber may blunder and fall off the tree. Seeing the smooth wood surface,I feel certain about it.

醍醐寺の霊宝館の庭に咲く八重桜です。 太閤秀吉の「醍醐の花見」ゆかりの寺。国宝の五重塔,金堂は必見です。
The double cherry blossoms beside the garden of Reihoukan museum. A temple where Toyotomi Hideyoshi,a ruler 400 years ago,held a grand cherry-blossom party. Five-story pagoda and Kondo hall are must-sees.

誰もが思い浮かべる京都の代表的な花見スポット。有名な枝垂桜をはじめ、ソメイヨシノなど約７００本の櫻があり、花見客で大いににぎわいます。
A representative flower viewing spot of kyoto known by everyone in the area are approximately 700 cherry trees;starting with the famous weeping cherry ,there are also Yoshino cherries etc. It become s very crowed with viewing visitors.

晩年の豊臣秀吉は醍醐寺の三宝院の景観を愛し、有名な[醍醐の花見」を行いました。　広大な境内には多くの櫻が 咲き誇ります。
One of Japans three most famous warlords. Toyotomi Hideyosi,held a giant cherry blossom party here in the late 16th century. Countless cherry trees create a pink mist in the whole precinct.
